During the weekend, you are given expert, caring guidance to unlock vocal tension or blockage, access full and deep breathing, align and use postural muscles, and make healthy vibrant tones. You learn to harness your ability to hear, make sound, tune into your vocal energy, use your vocal intuition, and open the heart of your voice to lasting transformation.

Healers of any modality, singers, professional speakers, musicians, and others who would like to explore voice healing are welcome. No experience in voice practices is required.

Finding Happiness & Peace of Mind In Challenging Changing Times

Clearly, these are a very stressful times for more and more people. Increasing amounts of anxiety, fear, and depression are generating tremendous amount of stress, which in turn are impacting people’s sense of well-being and health. It has been well documented that many major illnesses, including cancer, can be directly linked to stress-related emotional states.

Stress lowers the immune system, causes hormones to not function properly, and even affects the neurotransmitters in the brain. Stress is not simply an annoyance to be tolerated or ignored. Stress is a serious health issue that needs to be addressed and dealt with, if one wants to live a long and healthy life.

Within this last decade, singing has been studied by scientists who research alternative medicine. They discovered that singing has unique stress fighting powers and are even more effective than simple music therapy.

For example, researchers at a major university found that after giving patients a 24-week singing therapy treatments, a significant percentage of the control group showed increased levels of melatonin (which affects sleep and the immune system), norepinephrine and epinephrine (neurotransmitters used to regulate stress levels).

Another control group of seniors were directed to sing twice a week for 26 weeks. This singing group showed significantly lower anxiety scores, and improved mood/depression scores than the non-singing group. The singing group was also found to feel less lonely. Feelings of loneliness have been shown to have measurable effects on health, especially in the elderly.

Singing has also been found to help children as well as adults develop better communication & concentration skills. This can lead to higher academic achievements & higher self-esteem. Singing enriches a child’s life experience, giving them a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Singing can bring more happiness into the home and a deeper bonding between family members. And the gift of singing is one that lasts a lifetime.
